About

Deadweight was born in 2016, back when I was in art school—digging through thrift stores, chasing nostalgia, and falling in love with the stories hidden in vintage pieces. What started as a name for a vintage brand grew into something much deeper.

At the time, deadweight felt like a reflection of my own mental state—something heavy, something holding me back. But as I grew, the meaning evolved. From No Deadweight, to All Deadweight, to simply Deadweight, the brand transformed with me.

Most people hear the word deadweight and think of something useless or burdensome. I chose it because I learned to own that feeling, flip it, and turn it into motivation. What once felt like a flaw became fuel. I wasn’t something holding myself back—I was something becoming stronger.

Vintage clothing carries the same story. Some see it as old, worn-out, forgotten—deadweight. Others see it as treasure. That duality inspired the original vision: start as a vintage store, build the brand slowly, then create clothing. But plans changed. I jumped straight into designing, and Deadweight the clothing brand came to life first.

My goal has always been simple: whoever wears Deadweight should feel like gold—valued, confident, and evolving. The vintage chapter will return one day, but for now…

DEADWEIGHT is here. And if you’re wearing it, you’re family.
